A native of Pensacola, Fla., Chalmers is a former elite gymnast who transferred to Towson after spending her freshman year at the University of Alabama. In three years as a member of the Tigers' squad, she emerged as one of the most talented gymnasts in school history.

A three-time All-ECAC selection, she helped the Tigers make three NCAA Southeast regional appearances and win ECAC championships in 1992 and 1995. In 1992, she helped the Tigers post a 20-2 record and finish third at the NCAA regional meet.

In 1994, Chalmers competed as an all-around performer in every meet as the Tigers compiled an impressive 18-2 record. After finishing second at the ECAC Championship Meet for the first time, the Tigers placed fifth at the NCAA Southeast regional meet. Chalmers led the Tigers to a record-setting win at Ohio State, finishing first in the all-around (38.975). During the 1994 season, she finished first in the all-around five times. As a senior, she earned All-ECAC honors for the third time as the Tigers won their eighth ECAC championship in nine years with a school record 194.075 score. When she graduated with her B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education, she owned the school record on floor exercise. She also had the fourth-highest beam score (9.80) and the third-best all-around score (38.975). Despite competing for only three seasons, she finished sixth on Towson's career scoring list with 1,330.600 points.

Chalmers, who earned her Master's degree from Towson in 1999, has been an elementary school   teacher for 13 years. She resides in Elkridge, Md. with her husband, Michael Stipek Sherbert, and their two young children.

A three-year starter at midfield for the Tiger men's lacrosse team, Langton became only the second player in school history to earn first team NCAA Division I All-American honors. He was a first team All-American pick in 1996 when he captained the Tigers to a 9-5 record and a berth in the NCAA quarter-finals. After a 16-11 win over Loyola College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Tigers lost to Princeton in a game played at Rutgers.

In his senior season, Langton was the Tigers' fourth-leading scorer with 27 goals and three assists. He also had two of the Tigers' biggest goals of the season. In late March, he scored the game-winning goal in overtime, leading Towson to a 12-11 win over Loyola. In May, his goal with 2:34 left turned out to be the game-winning goal in the Tigers' 13-12 victory over Johns Hopkins University. A first team all-league selection in America East, he finished his college career with 58 goals and 16 assists. He also had 95 ground balls in his career. During his four-year career, the Port Washington, N.Y. native helped the Tigers post a 28-20 record with two NCAA Tournament appearances.

After earning his degree in Economics from Towson, Langton was the number one draft pick in the National Lacrosse League. He played for the New York Saints for four years. Currently an institutional securities broker, he resides in Plandome, N.Y. with his wife, Liz, and their three young children.

Chosen as the America East Conference Player of the Year in 1996, Vallillo was an all-conference selection in two different leagues. In 1995, he was named second team All-Big South Conference. As a senior, he was a first team all-league pick in America East.

A three-year starter in the outfield, Vallillo was the Tigers' third-leading hitter with a .300 batting average in 1994. As a junior in 1995, he started all 53 games, earning second team All-Big South notice. He was the Tigers' second-leading hitter with a .339 batting average while leading the team with 58 base hits, 47 runs scored, 11 doubles, nine home runs and 43 runs batted in.

The 1990 Tiger gymnastics team, which finished ninth in NCAA Division I, will be honored as a “Team of Distinction” at the Hall of Fame Dinner. Coached by Dick Filbert, the 1990 Tigers finished the regular season with a 23-1 record and won their fourth consecutive ECAC championship. Making their fourth straight appearance at the NCAA Southeast regionals at the University of Florida, the Tigers earned a 188.775 team score and became one of 12 teams to qualify for Nationals at Oregon State University.

Making their first appearance at Nationals, the Tigers finished a surprising ninth in the nation with a 187.975 score. Towson finished ahead of national powers Florida, Arizona and Ohio State as Filbert shared the National Coach of the Year award with Greg Marsden of national champion Utah.

The 1990 Tigers were captained by Lori Salindong, '90, Carri Scott, '91 and Stephanie St. Angelo, '90. No fewer than six members of the Towson University Athletic Hall of Fame competed for the 1990 Tigers. In addition to Salindong, Tandy Knight, '91, Gabby Linarducci, '93, Janine Spezio, '93, Anne Sugden, '91 and Wendy Weaver, '92 helped the Tigers finish ninth in the nation. The Towson University Athletic Hall of Fame was conceived in 1963 and developed by Dr. Donald “Doc” Minnegan and alumnus George Henderson to provide recognition for outstanding alumni athletes who excelled in sports while at Towson and are successful in their life. It was also their purpose to cite those members of the athletic and sports staff at Towson who had materially and significantly contributed to the total development of successful alumni athletes.

In 1974, the Athletic Hall of Fame was incorporated into the Alumni Association Awards program.
To be nominated, an individual must be a Towson alumna/us or an athletics staff member for at least 10 years. For selection, an alumna/us must have made a significant contribution to the college community through excellence in athletics, achieved marked success in life after leaving Towson, and be an active supporting member of the community. An athletics staff member must have clearly demonstrated athletic proficiency, and a high personal regard and respect for alumni and students.
