Tigers Set School Record With 13th Win

NORFOLK, Va. ? Led by two individual victories from sophomore Brooke Golden, the defending Colonial Athletic Association champion Tigers set a school record by earning their 13th dual meet victory of the season, a 209.50-90.50 victory over Old Dominion University in a CAA meet on Saturday afternoon.

The record-setting victory upped the Tigers' record to 13-1, eclipsing the previous record of 12 dual meet victories during the 1979-80 season.

Golden won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:03.75 before posting a victory in the 500-yard freestyle, completing the event in 5:01.08. She earned two of the Tigers' 12 victories in the meet.

Sophomore Kayla Zeller won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:18.36 before sophomore Erica Hall finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.35.

Freshman Cari Czarnecki posted a time of 1:04.67 in the 100-yard breaststroke to win the event while senior Hillary Rieveley turned in a mark of 24.32 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to finish first in the event.

Junior Robin Glaser won the 100-yard freestyle for the Tigers with a time of 53.51 seconds before freshman Maggie Macedonia won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:06.65.

Sophomore Meredith Budner earned first place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:06.00 while freshman Lauren Ray won both diving events. She scored 164.70 points in the one-meter event while recording 185.48 points in the three-meter event.
