Sophomore forward Jewel Evans scored two goals, including the game-winning goal in the 88th minute, as Georgia State snapped a two-game losing streak with the victory.

The Tigers took a quick 1-0 lead in the sixth minute when Skidmore scored off a crossing pass from sophomore forward Emily Banes for her sixth goal of the season.

However, the Panthers answered 11 minutes later when junior forward Sarah Bennett tied the game at 1-1 when she scored her seventh goal of the season off an assist from freshman forward Eryka Hawkins.

With 20:20 remaining in the first half, the Tigers regained the one-goal advantage when senior midfielder Courtney McKee tallied her fourth goal of the season with a shot to the left corner past sophomore goalkeeper Rebecca Ingram.

The Tigers held the one-goal edge until the 61st minute when Evans tallied her fifth goal of the season after a pass from sophomore forward Jordan Young, tying the game at 2-2.

But, Skidmore responded by scoring her second goal of the game in the 67th minute with an unassisted marker past Ingram.

Trailing by 3-2, the Panthers rallied with two goals in the final six minutes. With 5:52 remaining, Young took a crossing pass from Bennett and scored on a shot from outside the penalty area to even the score at 3-3.

Then, Evans gave Georgia State a 4-3 advantage they did not relinquish with 2:54 left after taking a pass from Bennett and scoring her sixth goal of the year.

While Evans led the Panthers with her two-goal effort, Bennett added a goal with two assists as Georgia State outshot Towson by a 24-11 margin. Young contributed a goal with an assist for the Panthers, who have won five straight games against Towson.

Skidmore, the Tigers' leading scorer, posted her second two-goal game of the season while McKee scored her fourth goal in the last three games. The CAA leader in saves, senior goalkeeper Jocelyn Papciak made 12 saves in a losing effort.

The Tigers will travel to UNC Wilmington on Sunday afternoon for a 2 p.m. CAA game against the Seahawks. Meanwhile, the Panthers remain at home to face George Mason on Sunday afternoon.
