Four Tigers Qualify for NCAA Zone Regional

TOWSON, Md. - The Tigers participated in a diving exhibition Oct. 29 against the UMBC Retrievers, allowing four Tigers to qualify for the NCAA Zone Regional with their performances in the one and three meter dives.

Caroline Baker, Lyndsey Dickson, Jeanne Ball and Lauren Ray all earned a spot in the Zone Regional with outstanding performances for the Tigers Saturday.

“They did great and they had solid performances,” Diving Coach Maureen Mead said. “Their biggest competition is each other. Lauren Ray had a breakout performance and this was her best diving of the season.”

Ray finished the one-meter event in fourth place with a score of 275.40, behind Ball, Dickson and Baker, who won the event with her 335.03 score.

In three-meter competition, Baker won yet again, with Ball, Ray and Dickson following in sequence. Baker topped the event with her 319.95 score.

The Tigers will return to Burdick Pool Saturday, Nov. 5 when they will host a POD meet as part of a two day event. The competition will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
