TOWSON, Md. - The
Tigers participated in a diving exhibition Oct. 29 against the UMBC Retrievers,
allowing four Tigers to qualify for the NCAA Zone Regional with their performances
in the one and three meter dives.
Caroline Baker, Lyndsey Dickson, Jeanne Ball and Lauren Ray all earned a spot in the
Zone Regional with outstanding performances for the Tigers Saturday.
“They did great and they
had solid performances,” Diving Coach Maureen Mead said. “Their biggest
competition is each other. Lauren Ray had a breakout performance and this was
her best diving of the season.”
Ray finished the one-meter
event in fourth place with a score of 275.40, behind Ball, Dickson and Baker,
who won the event with her 335.03 score.
In three-meter
competition, Baker won yet again, with Ball, Ray and Dickson following in
sequence. Baker topped the event with her 319.95 score.
The Tigers will return to
Burdick Pool Saturday, Nov. 5 when they will host a POD meet as part of a two
day event. The competition will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
