COLLEGE PARK, Md. – After the second day of the Terp Cup at the Eppley Recreation Natatorium, the Tiger women are in second place with 402 points behind host-school Maryland, which holds the top spot after recording 956 points through 28 events.

Towson senior Cari Czarnecki posted a strong second day for the Tigers, posting excellent times in the 400-yard individual medley and helping a Towson relay team to second place in the 800-yard freestyle event. Czarnecki recorded a 4:17.49 in the 400, establishing a new lifetime best in the event.

“Cari Czarnecki is hands-down the swimmer of our meet so far,” Towson Head Coach Pat Mead said. “She's truly lighting it up.”

Kaitlin Burke, Amanda Skroupa and Melanie Rowland also were impressive Friday. Rowland posted a life-time best swim of 55.73 in the 100-yard butterfly to finish in sixth place.

Caroline Baker and Jeanne Ball took third and fourth place, respectively, in the three-meter dive for Towson.

One day remains in the Terp Cup, which concludes Nov. 19.

Following the Terp Cup, Towson will not compete until Jan. 7, when they host Maryland for a dual meet at Burdick Pool.
