Led by three goals and three assists from Colleen Dalon, third-seeded William & Mary spoiled Towson's first-ever CAA Tournament game by handing the second-seeded Tigers a 14-12 loss at the JMU Lacrosse Complex in the semi-finals ... After a low-scoring first half, the Tribe erupted for ten goals in the second half to defeat the Tigers ... Trailing by 7-6, the Tribe used a six-goal run to take a 12-7 lead with 9:23 remaining ... The win allowed the Tigers to become the first team in CAA women's lacrosse history to earn the conference title as the tournament's fourth seed ... Led by Taylor, the Tigers jumped out to an 8-4 lead with 8:26 remaining in the second half ... But, the Blue Hens scored three goals in a span of five minutes to cut the margin to 8-7 ... However, the Tigers rallied around goalkeeper Mary Teeters and held off the Blue Hens to earn their third CAA championship in five years ... Teeters made 12 saves in the victory as Towson earned its seventh straight win ... The Blue Hens outshot Towson by a slim 24-22 margin ... Stephanie Allen and Emily Schaknowski each scored two goals in a losing effort for Delaware ... Led by four first-half goals from Liz Falco, third-seeded Hofstra ended the Tigers' run as CAA champions with a 9-8 verdict in the CAA semi-finals at the JMU Lacrosse Complex ... The Pride, who lost to James Madison by 10-6 in the CAA Championship Game, jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the first half before the Tigers made a valiant comeback ... After the Pride jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 11 minutes of the opening half, the Tigers closed to within 3-2 on goals from junior attacker Jess Dunn and senior attacker Jacie Kendall ... However, Hofstra closed out the first half with four unanswered goals, upping its lead to 7-2 at the intermission ... After the teams traded goals to start the second half, the Tigers tied the game at 8-8 by scoring five straight goals ... Kendall and senior midfielder Nikki Marcinik each scored twice during the spurt ... However, freshman Jill Maier scored the eventual game-winning goal with 13:11 remaining to give the Pride a 9-8 advantage ... Kendall led the Tigers with four goals while Marcinik contributed a pair of goals ... Hillary Fratzke was held without a point for the first time in her college career, snapping a 64-game goal-scoring streak and a 70-game point-scoring streak.
