OCEAN CITY, Md. - The annual Joe Vitt Crab Feast and Golf Outing, which benefits the Towson University football program, will be held on Saturday, June 25.
Hosted by Vitt, a former Tiger football player and coach who has coached in the National Football League for more than 30 seasons, the day-long event starts with a golf outing at The Bay Club Golf Course. The event continues with a crab feast at Micky Fins Bar and Grill at the Ocean City Fishing Center.
"Thanks to Coach Vitt, this Crab Feast has turned into the #1 Fundraising event for the Towson Football Program," says Towson Coach Rob Ambrose. "It is an amazing experience for the entire family and the silent auction is filled with NFL paraphernalia from all around the league. We encourage everyone to join in this tradition which has been created by the loyal alumni of Towson University Football players and coaches!"
The golf outing features a "Meet The Coaches" segment where the golfers will interact with the Tiger football coaches. Each foursome will include one of the Tiger football coaches.
There is an 8:30 a.m. shotgun shot and the fee is $100 per person.
The crab feast, slated to run from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., includes a menu of steamed crabs, pit beef, barbecued chicken, corn-on-the-cob, potato salad, cole slaw, hot dogs and hamburgers.
Individual tickets for the crab feast are priced at $65 each. Group tickets may be purchased in groups of ten for the price of $600. Children who are aged 12 and under will be admitted for free.
Highlights of the crab feast include the live auction and a silent auction. Ambrose and Vitt will also serve as featured speakers.
