TOWSON, Md. - Tickets for the much-anticipated college football game between Towson University and the University of Maryland, set for Saturday, October 1, are currently on sale.
Towson University has a limited number of tickets available for the game in the Towson section. Tickets are priced at $38 per seat.
For an additional $18, Tiger fans can tailgate in the special Towson Tailgating Zone in Lot U5. The tailgating package includes food, drinks and a special commemorative T-shirt. The Towson Tailgating Zone will be held in a large 40' x 40' tent in the corner of the parking lot. This area opens three (3) hours prior to kickoff and closes once the game begins. The Tigers will be facing the Terrapins on Saturday, October 1 at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium in College Park, Md. The game time will be announced approximately 12 days prior to the contest.
Dr. Marcia Welsh, Interim President, along with the TU Alumni Association and Tiger Athletics, will be hosting a special reception in the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center to celebrate the first-ever meeting of the Tigers and Terps. Beginning two (2) hours prior to the game, the reception features a classic tailgate menu, beer and wine. There is an additional fee for this alumni reception. For more information click here.
This will mark the first-ever football game between the Tigers and the Terrapins. The two schools have played in every other intercollegiate sport, including men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's golf, gymnastics, volleyball, field hockey, baseball, softball, tennis, cross country and track and field.
The Terrapins will be the fourth NCAA FBS team that the Tigers have played in the last four seasons. In 2008, the Tigers visited Navy. In 2009, the Tigers faced Northwestern on the road. Last year, they opened the season at Indiana University.
