TOWSON, Md. - On Saturday afternoon, the Tigers took a break from their pre-season practice sessions to hold their first-ever Fan Day at Unitas Stadium.
In the early afternoon, more than 200 Tiger football fans gathered at Unitas Stadium to meet this year's team. Fans lined up to collect autographs from their favorite Tiger football players, including Grant Enders, Jordan Dangerfield, Terrance West and Frank Beltre.
After the Meet the Tigers session, the Tiger football team posed for a team photo. After the players were all lined up, the fans joined them in the team photo.
Highlighting the event was the Roar To Rewards Contest where fans entered to win an all-expense paid trip for two to the Towson-Louisiana State football game on Sept. 29.
Kevin Seally of Baltimore, Md. was the winner of the tickets.
After the end of the Fan Day, most of the fans stuck around to watch the Tigers stage a scrimmage.
Big plays dominated the scrimmage. On the opening drive of the scrimmage, West rushed for 30 yards while Enders completed two passes for another 30 yards. Sterlin Phifer capped off the drive with a one-yard touchdown run.
On the second drive of the scrimmage, Connor Frazier led his team on a 75-yard touchdown drive. A 48-yard run by Frazier set up a nine-yard TD run by freshman Vince DePaola, a transfer from Rutgers who transferred to Towson last week.
Sophomore Derrick Joseph also made a big play on special teams as he returned a punt 62 yards for a touchdown. Freshman defensive back Jordan Mynatt came up with a big play on defense as he intercepted a pass and returned it 40 yards for a TD.
