WASHINGTON, D.C. - Competing in its first road dual meets of the season, the Towson University women's swimming and diving team defeated Georgetown 247-53 and William & Mary 221-73 Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers (4-0, 1-0 CAA) received wins from senior Kaitlin Burke in the 200-yard freestyle (time of 1:51.50), the 500-yard freestyle (4:56.85) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:06.30) to lead the way and impress Tiger Head Coach Pat Mead.
"We had a solid effort from our women today," he said. "Burke led the way with three wins, but we also got great performances from Charlotte Holz, Macey Arnold and Kendall Towe."
Holz won the 100-yard backstroke in 57.93 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:06.62.
The freshman Arnold placed second in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle and also was fourth in the 50-yard freestyle.
Towe, a senior, won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:01.82.
The Tigers next face Old Dominion next Saturday at home beginning at 1 p.m.
