TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University women's swimming and diving team remained undefeated this season by defeating the Old Dominion Monarchs 199-101 on Saturday at Burdick Pool. Towson (5-0) has now won its first five meets in each of the past six seasons dating back to the 2008-09 year.
"They did a great job again today," Towson Head Coach Pat Mead said. "Our veteran consistency is very exciting. I still think there are areas for improvement, but again, we are seeing progress."
Sophomore Jenna Van Camp was impressive for Towson, winning the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:20.14.
Seniors Kaitlin Burke and Melanie Rowland also performed well, each winning events. Burke took first place in the 100-yard butterfly in 57.03, while Rowland won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:05.19.
The Tigers' Victoria Oslund won a pair of events against the Monarchs, recording victories in the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard individual medley.
The Tigers next travel to George Mason for a meet against the Patriots and the College of Charleston beginning on November 1.
