FAIRFAX, Va. - The Towson University women's swimming and diving team improved to 8-0 this season after picking up three wins against Northeastern (score of 270.50-82.50), College of Charleston (291-62) and George Mason (263-90) Saturday afternoon in a POD meet hosted by the Patriots.
"Even though the scores look a little lopsided, we still had some very close races," Towson Head Coach Pat Mead said. "We're looking at the big picture to make sure we are on track for a good end of the season."
Saturday, senior Kaitlin Burke took home wins in a pair of events, including the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.51 and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:52.27 for Towson.
Sophomore Jenna Van Camp also won two events for the Tigers, including the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard breaststroke.
Senior Melanie Rowland also performed well, taking first in the 200-yard butterfly and second in the 100-yard butterfly events.
The Tigers head to George Washington for a meet next Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
