Tigers Move to 10-0, Defeat McDaniel on Saturday

TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University women's swimming and diving team moved to 10-0 this season with a convincing 201-75 defeat of McDaniel College on Saturday afternoon at Burdick Pool. The Tigers have now won 10 or more meets in a season for the seventh consecutive year under Head Coach Pat Mead.

"We had some good swims from a few people today," Mead said. "Obviously the wins are nice, but our performances will need to improve significantly if we expect to be competitive at the end of the year. We are still in need of some new people emerging into competitive swimmers within the CAA."

Lyndsey Dickson won the three-meter dive for the Tigers with 264.15 points, leading the Tigers to the win. Also performing well on the boards was Molly Arceri, who impressed Mead with her steady performance. Arceri scored 259.43 points in the three-meter dive and 248.78 on the one-meter board.

"Molly has been steadily improving since the start of the school year and today put it all together," Mead said.

Caroline Hodgins was also a standout, winning the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle events and placing second in the 200-yard butterfly.

The Tigers have now completed the fall portion of their schedule and resume competition after the new year, hosting George Mason on January 11, 2014 at 1 p.m.
