TOWSON, Md. - Despite junior
Heather Jenney scoring her third goal of the season, the Towson University field hockey team (2-10, 0-3) fell to Delaware (9-5, 3-0) by a score of 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. Freshman
Emilee Woodall made 12 saves for the Tigers.
Towson took the lead early in the game as Jenney scored unassisted in the ninth minute of the game.
Delaware's
Esmee Peet evened the score in the 16th minute. Peet scored off of a corner with an assist from
Megan Winesett.
The Blue Hens outshot the Tigers 13-2 in the first half as Woodall recorded eight first-half saves.
The second half remained scoreless until the 50th minute when Delaware's
Marjelle Scheffers recorded an unassisted goal, giving the Blue Hens a 2-1 lead.

Delaware outshot the Tigers 7-5 in the second half to finish the game with a 20-7 shot advantage.

Towson saw shots from four players as Jenney,
Courtney Branco and
Kelly Mattingly tied for a team-high 2 shots. Freshman
Meg Stuart also recorded a shot for the Tigers.

Woodall made four second-half saves for a total of 12 saves.
Emmeline Otlmans recorded three saves to earn the win for the Blue Hens.
Towson returns to action on Friday, October 17th at 6 p.m. as they host Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
