Tigers Defeat Old Dominion, Improve To 3-0

NORFOLK, Va. - The Towson University women's swimming and diving team defeated Old Dominion 182 to 118 on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers improved to 3-0 on the season with the victory.

Towson opened the meet strong with a 200-yard medley relay victory. Mary Escobar, Jenna Van Camp, Victoria Oslund and Amanda Barber combined for a 1:44.76 time in the event.

The Tigers saw great success in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing one, two, three. Oslund earned the victory by finishing in 2:02.07. Christine Hammond (2:09.77) and Taylor Paskoff (2:10.60) finished in second and three, respectively.

Hammond timed 10:19.50 for a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle.

Barber earned her second victory of the day in the 50-yard freestyle, timing 23.88.

Macy Arnold finished in first-place in the 200-yard freestyle, timing 1:51.37.

Arnold (52.05) and Barber (52.19) were successful in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in first- and second-place, respectively.

Arnold continued her sucess with a win in the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.67) while Oslund saw her third victory in the meet with the 100-yard butterfly (56.30).

Van Camp saw a second victory for the day in the 200-yard breaststroke, timing 2:17.93.

Charlotte Holz earned a victory in the 200-yard individual medly with a time of 2:05.93.

The Tigers finished the meet with a 400-yard freestyle win. Jacy Icard, Barber, Arnold and Holz timed 3:30.21 for the victory.

Towson will return to action when they travel to George Mason for a two-day meet that also features College of Charleston and Northeastern, beginning Friday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.
