Men's Basketball Travels to Face UMBC

Story Lines
Towson puts it five-game win streak on the line as they travel to face UMBC on Nov. 29.

It is the second-straight season the Tigers have put together a win streak of at least five games.  Last season, Towson put together two win streaks of at least five games, with the longest being seven at the end of the season.

The Tigers 5-1 start to the season ties for the best start since joining Division I in 1979-80.  It is also tied for the fourth-best start in school history.

Towson is coming off a 97-43 victory over Goucher in the 2014 home opener.

The 54-point victory marks the third largest margin of victory in school history.  Towson defeated Buffalo, 122-58, in 1992, and Salisbury State, 101-41, in 1959.

The Tigers had five players in double figures, three players with double figure rebounds and two players with double-doubles.

Freshman Byron Hawkins and Mike Morsell each had their first double-digit scoring games.  Hawkins finished a game-high 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc, while Morsell scored 13 points and added five assists.

Season Ticket Holder Gifts
Season ticket holders will have the chance to pick up their gift at any of the home games in November or December.  A table will be set up by the will call booths.

2015 Charleston Classic
Towson has been selected to participate in the 2015 Gildan Charleston Classic on Nov. 19-22, 2015.  Other teams in the tournament include Bradley, George Mason, Long Beach State, Mississippi, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall and Virginia.

vs. UMBC
The two teams are meeting for the 56th time on the hardwood.  The Tigers own a 35-20 advantage after a 75-60 victory a season ago.  The two teams have split the last 10 meetings.

Large Margin of Victory
Towson defeated Goucher by 54 points in the home opener.  It marked the third-largest margin of victory in school history.

The Tigers are off to a 5-1 start this season.  It is the fifth-best start for the program dating back to the 1958-59 season.

Dominating the Glass
Towson has been dominating on the glass over the past three games.  They have outrebounded their opponents by 75 rebounds over that span.  The Tigers outrebounded Goucher by 36 rebounds and rank 21st in the NCAA with a 12.2 rebound advantage per game.

Five in Double Figures
Towson had five guys score in double figures against Goucher. Byron Hawkins led the way with 19 points.  Mike Morsell added 13 points,  John Davis with 11, and Four McGlynn and Timajh Parker-Rivera 10 each.  It marks the second-straight season the Tigers have had five players in double figures in a game.  Five Tigers reached double figures against Abilene Christian and Hofstra.

Pair of Double-Doubles
Towson had two players record double-doubles in the victory over Goucher.  John Davis had 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Timajh Parker-Rivera had 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Last season, Jerrelle Benimon and Marcus Damas recorded double-doubles in the same game twice.
