Casey Cittadino: FIL World Championship Blog

Most of the guys [on Team Israel] got in from all over the country and Israel late, late Tuesday night. So, needles to say, most of us were pretty tired this morning during our first practice while getting to know each other better.

Our first practice in Denver
But the excitement was def there and allowed us to really rally up and go hard in practice and get some good reps in. Most of us were just trying to get our sticks dialed in; especially since we have to use STX, which I only found out about today. I have used the same Warrior Evo for the past nine years, so the transition was a little rocky.

After practice we headed back for lunch where my roommates treated me to a feast of grilled chicken, sweet potatoes, spinach, brown rice, mango, and avocado. I had a couple hours of downtime, so I wanted to make sure I got my work in, and I spent that time sending out emails for Custom Fit Meals and making sure I was still taking care of business.

Our scrimmage this afternoon was definitely rough. We really weren't playing well as a team; the chemistry is just not quite there yet. We were sloppy with the ball, and just were communicating the way we need to. But, that being said, it only day one and we're doing the necessary things to prepare ourselves for the games.

Catching up with old friends
As I was walking out of dinner I got a text from my old Baldwin High School coach (Jim Kaspar, below) saying he was up here and coaching Team New Zealand. So I immediately walked over to the Red Lion in Vail Village to catch up with him. It was really awesome to spend some time with him. Cittadino and Coach Jim Kaspar

Our schedule is flip-flopped tomorrow with a scrimmage in the morning and practice at night. Along with learning more Hebrew.

Here's a Hebrew word of the day for you: po, which means "here" or "I'm open/throw me the ball."
