In the National Rankings
•Towson has dropped out of both national FCS polls after starting the year 0-2. The Tigers are the top team receiving votes in both the FCS Coaches Poll and the Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS Top 25. Coming into the season, Towson was No. 7 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 13 in the Sports Network rankings. The Tigers ended last season ranked No. 2 in both polls.

Bright Spot

•Lewis and redshirt freshman James Simms are tied for third in the CAA by averaging 11.0 tackles per game this season.
Scouting the Opponent
•After falling to Monmouth (52-21) and Delaware (27-9) on the road to start the season, Delaware State welcomes Towson for its home opener.
•The Hornets totaled 154 rushing yards against UD, their best single-game on the ground since rushing for 221 yards against Hampton in 2012. Malcolm Williams took a bulk of the carries for DSU on Sunday, rushing for 100 yards on 18 carries. It was the third 100-yard rushing game of his career.
•Hornet wide receiver Milton Williams III had four receptions for 90 yards at Delaware. He had catches of 38 and 41 yards.
•Much like Towson, DSU is looking to replace a number of starters off last year's team. The Hornets lost eight starters on offense, but return eight starters on defense.
