TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University swimming and diving program welcomed Special Olympic Maryland (SOMD) athletes to Burdick Pool on Saturday, Jan. 10 to wrap up their Fall Swim Clinic.

Over the course of the fall semester, Special Olympic athletes were partnered with Tigers for five clinics to provide individualized instruction on all strokes including dives, turns and individual medley transitions.

On Saturday, the athletes spent time on the pool deck with the Tigers, cheering as Towson hosted McDaniel in a dual-meet. After the mid-meet diving break, the SOMD athletes competed in exhibition races to show off the skills they gained during the clinics. Tigers handed out medals after each heat to the participating athletes.

Towson will welcome back the Special Olympic athletes for the Tigers' final home meet on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. when they take on Johns Hopkins.
