Tigers Head to UNC Wilmington on Sunday

OPENING TIP: Fresh off a 65-61 win over Northeastern, the Tiger women's basketball team heads to UNC Wilmington on Sunday, Jan. 25 for a 2 p.m. game.

SERIES HISTORY: The Tigers get their first look at UNC Wilmington this season. Sunday's contest will be the 25th meeting all-time between the Tigers and Seahawks. UNC Wilmington leads the series 15-9 after winning a pair of one-point games last year (54-53 in Towson, 60-59 in Wilmington). Towson's last win in the series came during the 2012-13 season as the Tigers claimed a 66-57 win in Wilmington.

C=SUCCESS: Senior guard Ciara Webb had a strong game for the Tigers against Northeastern filling up the scoresheet. Webb tallied a career-high 27 points after going 10-for-15 (66.6%) from the field and 7-for-12 (58.3%) from three-point range. She added eight rebounds, a career-high five assists and three steals with no turnovers in 38 minutes of work against the Huskies.

BOMBS AWAY!: The Tigers lit up the scoreboard from three-point range on Thursday night against Northeastern. Towson connected on a school record 12 three-pointers against the Huskies. That broke the old record of 11 set by the Tigers against UMBC during the 2003-04 season. Senior guard Ciara Webb had seven of the Tigers' 12 triples in the game. Webb's total is tied for second most in school history by an individual. In addition junior guard Dominique Johnson (four) and senior forward Camille Alberson (one) helped the Tigers reach the record in the game.

THE 1,000 POINT CLUB: Redshirt senior forward LaTorri Hines-Allen reached a career milestone in win over Northeastern. She had 10 points against Northeastern which gave her 345 for the season. Hines-Allen now has 767 points in 49 games as Tiger. Combined with the 239 points she scored at Virginia Tech, Hines-Allen has 1,006 career points. Hines-Allen is the fourth CAA player to record the 1,000th point of their career this season.

LENDING A HELPING HAND: Freshman guard Breonn Hughey had eight assists for the Tigers against Northeastern. Hughey has 81 assists in 17 games for the Tigers this season. She has five or more assists in 11 games this year including a season-high 10 helpers against George Mason in December. Hughey currently ranks fourth in the CAA in assists per game (4.8) and third in assist to turnover ratio (1.8).

I'LLL TAKE THAT: The Tigers recorded a season-high 12 steals in the win over Northeastern. Six Tigers recorded at least one steal in the game. That group was led by senior guard Ciara Webb and freshman center Daijha Thomas who had three each. Towson is now 2-2 this year when it records 10 or more steals in a game. The Tigers are 8-5 under Head Coach Niki Reid Geckeler when they record 10 or more steals.

LENDING A HELPING HAND: The Tigers dished out a season-high 19 assists in Thursday's win over Northeastern. Six Tigers recorded at least one assist in the game and that group was led by freshman guard Breonn Hughey who had eight and senior guard Ciara Webb who dished out five helpers. Towson is 5-1 this year when it dishes out 15 or more assists in a game. The Tigers are 8-1 under Head Coach Niki Reid Geckeler when they reach that mark.

UP NEXT: Towson is back in action when it travels to Delaware on Thursday, Jan. 29 for a 7 p.m. game.
