WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Towson women's swimming and diving team narrowly fell to Georgetown 141-121 in dual meet action on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers won 5 events and had 20 top-three event finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Freshman Ashley Illeyne was victorious in the 1000-yard freestyle event, timing 10:25.55.
- The freshmen were successful in the 200-yard butterfly as Illenye won the event in 2:07.00. Grace Hansen earned a third-place finish (2:13.79) while Bria Otwell followed in fourth-place (2:13.87) and Tara Goss in fifth-place (2:15.31).
- Illenye also won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:08.55. She was followed by freshman Ryan Ulrich in second-place (5:11.60).
- The 200-yard freestyle was impressive for the Tigers as they swept second through fourth-place. Sophomore Caitlin Manthe was the runner-up in the event (1:58.38), followed by freshmen Kara Powell in third-place (1:58.44) and Tasha Reidenbach in fourth-place (1:59.37).
- Towson swept second through fourth-place in the 100-yard backstroke. Freshman Haley Sutton was the runner-up (1:00.48) followed by Ulrich (1:01.34) and senior Oliva Evans (1:01.41).
- Ulrich won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:08.12 as Sutton placed third (2:09.23).
- Freshman Amanda Rosa finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.41.
- Senior Melissa Toy was the runner-up in 100-yard freestyle (54.43), followed by Manthe (54.62).
- Manthe also placed third in the 50-yard freestyle, timing 25.46.
- Goss came in second-place in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.05).
- Freshman Caroline Batista came in third-place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:32.24.
- Hansen finished third in the 200-yard individual medley (2:15.83) followed by Reidenbach (2:16.33).
- Towson was victorious in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Powell, Toy, Illenye and Ulrich combined for a hktime of 3:10.11.
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Sutton, Rosa, Goss and Manthe finished second with a time of 1:50.54.
- Freshman Dani Clark earned a score of 179.25 in the three-meter diving event.

Towson continues its dual meet season at George Mason with CAA foes Drexel and Northeastern in a two-day meet from Oct. 30-31.
