NEWARK, Del. – The Towson field hockey team fell 9-0 to Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival No. 15 Delaware on Friday evening. The Tigers had a combined 19 saves in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Delaware's Taylor Lister scored the game's opening goal in the ninth minute. Tiger goalkeeper Emilee Woodall came out to challenge the ball but Lister was able to slip the ball past Woodall.
- The Blue Hens added a goal three minutes later after Esmee Peet scored on a penalty stroke opportunity.
- Delaware added two goals on penalty corner opportunities in a three minute span. The Blue Hens' Greta Nauck scored both goals, the first in the 19th minute and the second in the 22nd minute.
- Towson's Stacey Mackintosh made an impressive defensive save in the 24th minute, denying Delaware's Maura Zarkoski of a scoring opportunity.
- The Blue Hens added a final first-half goal in the 26th minute as Zarkoski was able to get the ball in past Woodall.
- Delaware outshot Towson 25-0 in the first half and had a 12-0 advantage in penalty corner opportunities. Woodall made 12 first-half saves for the Tigers.
- Towson's Megan Boyle took over goalkeeping duties for Woodall to start the second half.
- The Blue Hens scored early in the second half as Meghan Winesett tallied a goal in the 38th minute.
- Delaware added another three goals in a six minute span. Lister scored her second of the game in the 50th minute, Nauck tallied her third in the 55th and Krissy Mikelson scored a minute later.
- The Blue Hens outshot the Tigers 38-0 and held a final 17-0 advantage in penalty corner opportunities. Boyle made six saves in the second half.
Towson will wrap up a four-game road trip on Sunday, Oct. 25 at No. 6 Maryland. The Tigers and Terps are set for a 1 p.m. start.
