HOW IT HAPPENED- No. 6 Maryland got on the board early as Lein Holsboer scored in the fourth minute on a quick shot behind goalkeeper Emilee Woodall.
- The Terps converted on a penalty corner opportunity in the 14th minute as Sarah Sprink tallied a goal.
- Maryland added two goals in two minutes to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. Floor Paanakker scored on a hard shot from just inside the circle in the 25th minute, followed by a goal from Welma Luus in the 27th minute.
- The Terps outshot the Tigers 20-2 in the first half and held a 7-0 advantage in penalty corner opportunities. Woodall had nine first-half saves for the Tigers while Jill Genovese was forced to make one first-half save for Maryland.
- Senior Stacey Mackintosh had both scoring opportunities for Towson in the first half.
- Junior goalkeeper Megan Boyle took over in goal for the Tigers to start the second half.
- Maryland added two second-half goals to earn the 6-0 win over Towson. Shari Jones recorded both goals for the Terps off penalty corner opportunities. Her first goal was deflected in off a penalty in the 37th minute followed by a rebounded shot in the 49th minute.
- The Terps finished the game with a 47-3 advantage in shots as Mackintosh recorded all three shots for the Tigers. Maryland had a 17-1 advantage in penalty corner opportunities, converting on three chances.
- Boyle made 17 saves in the second-half. Melissa Flowe came in on relief action for the Terps and was not forced to make a save in the final 23:56 of game action.
Towson returns home to host Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival Northeastern on Friday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. The game, which is the Tigers' final home game of the season, will serve as Senior Day.
