OPENING TIP: The Tiger women's basketball team is back in SECU Arena on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. Towson plays host to the one Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) team it has yet to see this season as Drexel comes to town. It's Girl Scout Day and all girl scouts in uniform receive a free ticket. It's also the Tigers' annual "Pink Game" and fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support for breast cancer awareness.
SERIES HISTORY: The Tigers get their first look at the only team in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) they have yet to play this season as Drexel comes to SECU Arena. In one of the longest running series for the Tigers, Drexel leads 47-19. The Dragons have won 10 straight contests against Towson. The Tigers' last win in the series came during the 2009-10 season as they earned a 53-48 victory at home that year.
DOMO GOES DEEP: Junior guard
Dominique Johnson matched her season-high with six three-pointers on Thursday against James Madison. Johnson now has 51 made three-pointers this season and 142 for her career. She moved into sixth place on the single-season three-pointers made list at Towson. Johnson also moved into third place on the career three-pointers list. She needs one more three-pointer to move into the top five for a single-season and four more to move into the top three.
Tara Rottet holds the school record for single-season threes with 73. Johnson needs one more three to move into a tie for second on the career three-pointers list at Towson. The school record for career three-pointers is 190 set by
Mia Chapman.
THE CENTURY CLUB: Senior forward
Camille Alberson reached the "100" mark in several categories on Thursday. Alberson played in the 100th game of her career against James Madison. She also recently recorded her 100th point and 100th rebound of the season. It is the first time in her career she has gone over 100 points and rebounds in a season.
TWENTY TWENTY VISION: Junior guard
Dominique Johnson led the Tigers with a game-high 28 points against James Madison. It was Johnson's fifth 20+ point performance of the season. The Tigers are 3-2 this season when she scores 20 or more points in a game. The Tigers have gotten 16 20+ performances this season (
LaTorri Hines-Allen-10, Johnson-5,
Ciara Webb-1).
GOING DEEP: The Tigers hit eight three-pointers against James Madison and now have 152 on the season. It is the most three-pointers in a single-season by the program since the 2003-04 team had 158. Towson continues to lead the league in three-pointers made during CAA only games. The Tigers enter play today averaging 7.5 three-pointers in conference only games. The Tigers hit a school record 12 three-pointers in the win over Northeastern. Four Tigers have hit at least 20 three-pointers this season. That group includes junior
