TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University tennis team (4-3) will face Georgetown (4-1) in a neutral site match on Wednesday, Feb. 18 in Arlington, Va. at noon.

The Tigers split their matches this past weekend in West Virginia, falling to the Mountaineers 6-1 before defeating California University of Pennsylvania 7-0.

Nicole Shakhnazarova recorded Towson's only point against West Virginia after defeating
Ikttesh Chahal 7-5, 7-5.

Towson rebounded well against California University of Pennsylvania, winning two of the three doubles matches as well as sweeping singles play.

Georgetown enters Wednesday coming off a 4-1 win over George Washington. The Hoyas took the doubles point and won four singles matches to defeat the Colonials. Sophomore
Victoire Saperstein has been impressive for the Hoyas in the No. 1 singles spot.

During fall tournament play, Shakhnazarova and Williams both earned wins over Hoyas' players. Shakhnazarova picked up a win against Georgetown's
Casey Marx 6-2, 6-1, in the 'B' flight of the Blue & Gold Invitational.

Williams defeated Georgetown's Saperstein in the 'A' flight of the Blue & Gold Invitational. She won the first set 6-4 before dropping the second set 2-6. Williams held strong to earn the victory in the third set tiebreaker, 14-12.

The Tigers will wrap up the week with a visit to George Mason on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m.
