NORTHRDIGE, Calif. – Despite a win in singles play by freshman
Nicole Shakhnazarova, the Towson University women's tennis team fell to California State Northridge (CSUN) 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers got their only win of the day in singles by Shakhnazarova in the No. 1 singles spot. She defeated the Matadors'
Vivian Lin 6-4, 6-2 for her fourteenth singles victory of the season.

The freshman duo of
A.J. Gomer and
Renate van Oorschodt had the Tigers' only win in doubles but it was not enough to win the doubles point from the Matadors. Gomer and van Oorschodt combined for a 8-5 win over CSUN's
Kiryang Kim and
Criss Rodriguez.

Towson (8-7, 1-2 Colonial Athletic Association) will remain in California to face Colorado State in a neutral site match on Thursday, March 19 at 2 p.m. EST.
