Jocelyn Kuilan had a season-high 18 kills and hit .773 to lead the Towson University volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Delaware State on day three of the Towson Invitational in SECU Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Tied at 6-6 in the first, Towson used a 4-0 run to take a 10-6 lead. Delaware State (0-4) battled back to tie the set at 11-11. Towson responded with a 7-1 run to take an 18-12 advantage in the set. Kuilan had four kills during that stretch for the Tigers. The two teams traded points before a block from senior Haley Pa'akaula and redshirt junior Candace Steadman closed out a 25-15 set win.
- Towson hit .306 to Delaware State's -.067 in the first set. Kuilan led all players with seven kills and hit .600 in the set.
- A service ace from junior Jessica Lewis helped Towson open up a 9-3 lead in the second set and forced a Delaware State timeout. A kill from sophomore Payton Windell extended the Towson lead to 14-6. A pair of kills from Kuilan sandwiched around a block from Kuilan and redshirt sophomore Annika Rigterink put the home team on top 19-9. Lewis' second service ace of the set sealed a 25-12 set win.
- Kuilan was a perfect 5-for-5 on attack attempts in the set while redshirt senior Aimee Schubert had five assists and five digs.
- A kill from Kuilan gave Towson an 8-2 lead in the third set. A service ace from Lewis gave Towson a 12-4 advantage in the set. Freshman Carola Biver made it 20-11 in favor of the Tigers. Pa'akaula closed out a 25-13 set win with a kill.
- Â Towson hit .542 in the set while holding Delaware State to a .000 hitting percentage. Kuilan had six kills in the final set.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE- Towson had 16 players see action in at least one set during the match.
- Delaware State Head Coach Whitney Johnson played for Towson Head Coach Don Metil at UMES.
- Kuilan's 18 kills were the most by a Tiger since Victoria Williams had 18 kills against Elon in November of last year.
- Schubert recorded her first double-double of the year with 21 assists and 10 digs.
The Tigers wrap up the Towson Invitational by hosting Coppin State at 3 p.m.
