TOWSON, Md. – Despite senior
Heather Jenney tallying her second goal of the season, the Tigers dropped a close 2-1 decision to Longwood on Friday night at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Longwood (1-3) got on the board early in the game as Hollie MacDonald scored in the 13th minute. MacDonald used a strong shot through traffic to get past Tiger goalkeeper Megan Boyle.
- The Lancers took a 1-0 lead into halftime, outshooting the Tigers 8-3. Boyle made four first-half saves for Towson (0-5).
- Longwood increased its lead to 2-0 in the 43rd minute as MacDonald tallied her second goal of the game. MacDonald used an assist from Brenna Kinzel to beat Boyle and score in the open corner of the goal.
- Towson responded less than 10 minutes later and Jenney scored unassisted on a breakaway to narrow Longwood's lead. Jenney's goal was her second of the season.
- Both teams were held scoreless for the final 18 minutes of the game as Longwood earned its first win of the season.
- The Lancers held a 15-5 shot advantage over the Tigers. Boyle added two second-half saves to finish the game with six. Katie Wyman made three saves to earn the win for Longwood.
- Longwood finished the game with a 7-3 advantage in penalty corner opportunities.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE- Jenney now leads the Tigers with three points and two goals. She currently has a two-game goal scoring streak after tallying her first goal of the season in the last Sunday's game against Lock Haven.

The Tigers close out a four-game home stand on Sunday, September 13 as they welcome Lehigh to Johnny Unitas Stadium for a 12 p.m. game.
