GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Towson women's swimming and diving team opened its 2015-16 season at day one of the All-Florida Invitational, held at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center Pool. Junior
Macey Arnold led the Tiger effort as the runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle. Towson is in fourth-place after day one with 181 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED (FINALS)- Arnold posted the Tigers' best finish, earning second-place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:54.00. Freshman Ashley Illeyne impressed in her collegiate debut, finishing fifth (4:56.75). Senior Christine Hammond rounded out the Tigers in that event, placing 12th (5:03.79).
- Senior Charlotte Holz finished third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.26. Sophomore Kendall Krumenacker (12th-overall, 2:09.09) and freshman Natalie Obando (16th-overall, 2:10.75) were also in action.
- Freshmen Ryan Ulrich and Kara Powell were the only Tigers to qualify for the finals in the 50-yard freestyle. Ulrich finished 11th (24.54) while Powell placed 15th (24.80).
- The 400-yard medley relay of Obando, senior Jenna Van Camp, Holz and Arnold came in sixth-place (3:51.50).
- The Tigers' relay team of sophomore Jacy Icard, Powell, Holz and Arnold finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.11.
HOW IT HAPPENED (DIVING)- Senior Molly Arceri narrowly missed finishing in the top-three for the one-meter diving event. She placed fourth overall with a score of 256.80.
- In her first collegiate meet, freshman Victoria Zozzaro posted the Tigers' second-best effort, scoring 209.10 for a 12th-place finish.
- Senior Natalee Szopo rounded out the Tigers' top-three, finishing 13th overall with a score of 209.10.
The Tigers will continue the All-Florida Invitational with preliminaries on Saturday at 9 a.m. Finals will take place at 4 p.m. with the three-meter diving event held in the afternoon. The invitational concludes on Sunday.
