NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Towson women's soccer team extended its win streak to three in a row, taking down Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Iona College Sunday afternoon at Mazzella Field. Towson (3-2-1) collected a pair of non-conference wins over MAAC opponents over the weekend, topping Fairfield 2-0 Friday night.
How It Happened- Iona (1-5-0) had the best chance of the first half in the 40th minute as Charlotte Stuart took a shot, but it hit the left goal post, sending the contest into the break deadlocked 0-0.
- Towson controlled the pace from the opening whistle, out-shooting the Gaels 6-3 in the first half, including a pair of tries from Natalia Pinkney. Towson put five of its six attempts on frame.
- Hollie Garber and McKenzie McCaull took two shots apiece, putting all four attempts on frame. Iona's Lauren Ferris made five first-half saves.
- The backline for Towson held strong and didn't allow Iona a shot on goal in the first 45 minutes. Iona was without an attempt until the 32nd minute, an opportunity that went wide.
- Pinkney notched her third of the season in the 69th minute on a breakway. Marissa Green sailed in a ball over the Gael defense, allowing Pinkney to chip a shot over a charging Ferris and into the back of the net.
- After a hard collision with a Towson player, Ferris left the game in the 76th minute and was replaced by Abigail Roper. Ferris finished with five saves. Ferris suffered the loss while Roper made one save.
Behind the Numbers- Pinkney's third of the year ties a career-high, set last season. In her sixth game of 2015, this is the fastest Pinkney has reached the three-goal mark in her career, needing 18 games to do so last season.
- Towson improved to 3-2-1 overall on the year, the first time the Tigers have had that record since the 2013 season.
- Towson won its third-straight game, the first time since the 2011 campaign the Tigers have run off three in a row.
- Sebolao got her third-consecutive clean sheet and has held opponents off the board for the last 310 minutes of Tiger soccer. It is the first time since the first three contests of the 2006 season Towson has blanked three opponents in a row.

- The Tigers improved to 3-0-0 all-time against the Gaels, and have not allowed a goal against Iona. Towson has out-scored the Gaels 11-0 in the series while improving to 13-2-1 all-time against schools currently in the MAAC.
Towson Defender Marissa Green"Cait (Oswald) did all the hard work, got the second ball and saw Nat (Pinkney) running. She caught them off guard with her speed and played her behind. I feel like I've always played balls in behind, but maybe we don't get on the end of them. It was nice to know all the hard work paid off in the end.
Towson returns to Maryland, but remains away from home for the upcoming Battle of Baltimore. Action kicks off for the Tigers Friday afternoon at UMBC's Retriever Soccer Park against Mount St. Mary's at 5 p.m. On Sunday, the Tigers head to Emmitsburg, Md. for the conclusion of the Battle of Baltimore, taking on Loyola at noon on the campus of Mount St. Mary's.
