TOWSON, Md. – The Towson women's swimming and diving program kicks off their spring schedule on Saturday as the Tigers welcome McDaniel to Burdick Pool. The meet begins at 10 a.m. with diving events and continues at 1 p.m. with swimming events.
This will be the Tigers' first meet after a two-month break from competition. The Tigers defeated George Washington 192-102 in November, winning 10 events and posting 32 top-three finishes.
Towson's freshmen impressed as
Ashley Illenye (1000-yard freestyle),
Amanda Rosa (100-yard backstroke) and
Natalie Obando (200-yard backstroke) all earned individual event victories at George Washington.
Towson has 24 top-10 times among Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) swimmers at the mid-season mark, not including relays, according to Collegeswimming.com. The Tigers' senior class had a strong first half of the season as they hold five top-five times among the conference.

Hannah Snyder has the top time for the 1000-yard freestyle (10:16.26, at William & Mary) among CAA swimmers this season.

Christine Hammond has the second-fastest time for the 400-yard individual medley (4:27.06, at George Mason).

Charlotte Holz swam the 200-yard individual medley at the All-Florida Invite in 2:04.35, the third-fastest time among the conference swimmers.

Jenna Van Camp holds the second-fastest conference time for the 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.20, at All-Florida Invite). She also swam the fourth-fastest time for the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.77) at George Mason.
Obando posted the second-fastest 200-backstroke time (2:00.59, at All-Florida Invite) in the conference this season.
Towson is back in action when it travels to Virginia Tech for a two-day meet that also features Virginia. Action begins Friday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m.
