EMMITSBURG, Md. – The Towson University women's tennis team opened dual match play with a decisive 6-1 win at Mount St. Mary's on Thursday afternoon. The Tigers (1-0) battled windy conditions and a scrappy Mount (0-1) team for the win.
Towson swept the doubles matches and won five of six singles matches for the victory. It was the Tigers' seventh straight win over the Mount.

- Vasilkova earned a 7-5, 7-6 (2) win over Quintanilla at second singles.
- Gloninger contributed a victory at number four singles with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Kamprath.
- Shusterman recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win over Benefiel at fifth singles.
- Lesage defeated Davis, 6-3, 6-0 at number six singles.
- Mount St. Mary's earned its point in the match at third singles as Poje defeated van Oorschodt, 6-4, 6-2.
