Final Words
Towson Coach Pat Skerry
Opening Statement:
"Hats off to Maryland. It was a good game. They are a good club, they are well coached, and to be perfectly honest we came in here expecting to win the ball game. We played hard, but we just didn't make enough plays. Foul shooting hurt us late and free throw attempts because we normally live at the line. We worried about their ball screen coverage and we had some breakdowns late. Jackson got loose with some threes, obviously he's a terrific player. Trimble was Trimble, but it was a great atmosphere. We are past the point of moral victories, but Maryland is a top 20, top 25 team and I told our guys that if our goal is to get to the NCAA tournament that is the type of team that we will have to play against and be able to beat. It was a good battle, but as I said we just didn't make enough plays late."

On rebounding performance this game:
"We felt coming into this game that the keys to the game were limiting turnovers, which we did a good job of, ball screen defense, and then hang a big number on the backboards. There is a million ways to win and everybody does different things. We try to guard and rebound. If we are going to get to where we want we are going to have to defend, rebound, and get enough good shots. We aren't going to make a bunch of threes or press and trap you, but we will try and grind you out for 40 minutes."
