RICHMOND, Va. – The Towson women's swimming program finished third at the 2016 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Swimming Championships with 515.50 points. The Tigers won four medals and set a school record on the final day.
Over the course of the four-day meet, the Tigers set two school records, won 17 medals (including all four medals for relays) and earned six NCAA-B Cut times.

HOW IT HAPPENED (FINALS)- The Tigers impressed in the 1650-yard freestyle, winning silver and bronze. Senior Hannah Snyder was the runner-up in the event with a time of 16:44.14. Freshman Ashley Illenye followed in third, timing 16:46.98. Both Tigers took over 20 seconds off of their entry times. Sophomore Corie Morton finished 10th with a time of 17:11.41, a 35.50 improvement from her entry time.
- Freshman Natalie Obando won silver in the 200-yard backstroke with a freshman school record and NCAA-B Cut time of 1:57.69. Senior Christine Hammond finished fifth (2:00.46).
- In the 200-yard breaststroke finals, senior Jenna Van Camp finished second to win the silver medal with an NCAA-B Cut time of 2:13.11. Her preliminary time of 2:10.89 was also an NCAA-B Cut.
- Illenye continued her strong day with an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. She timed 2:04.08 in the event finals.
- The Tigers wrapped up the conference meet with the 400-yard freestyle relay, placing fourth. The relay team of sophomore Caitlin Manthe, senior Charlotte Holz, freshman Kara Powell and senior Melissa Toy combined for a time of 3:25.99.
HOW IT HAPPENED (CONSOLATION FINALS)- Holz finished 13th overall in the 200-yard backstroke, timing 2:01.65.
- In the 100-yard freestyle, Toy placed 13th with a time of 51.86.
- Senior Seana Acker finished 15th in the 200-yard breaststroke finals (2:21.78).
- Freshman Tara Goss timed 2:07.29 in the 200-yard butterfly for a 15th-place finish.
The NCAA Diving Zone A will take place from March 7-9 in Annapolis, Maryland. The 2016 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will take place in Atlanta, Georgia from March 17-19.
