CHARLESTON, S.C. –
Mike Morsell and
Timajh Parker-Rivera reached double digits in scoring for the Towson University men's basketball team during a 65-47 setback to the College of Charleston at TD Arena in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) game Thursday night.
The Tigers (16-8 overall, 7-4 CAA) saw their three-game winning streak end.
How It Happened- Charleston scored the final 14 points to defeat Towson for the second time in two weeks.
- Parker-Rivera's three-point play pulled Towson to within, 51-47, with 6:29 remaining.
- During the second half, Towson cut Charleston's advantage to 41-38 following consecutive acrobatic layups by Eddie Keith II with 13:39 remaining.
- Parker-Rivera and Morsell had vicious blocked shots on consecutive possessions early in the second half that sparked a quick 7-2 burst in the first two minutes that pulled Towson to within, 36-32.
- Marquise Pointer made three of Charleston's 3-pointers in the second half.
- After closing to within 16-13, Charleston scored seven consecutive points to open a 23-13 advantage.
- Charleston scored 11 consecutive points to open a 12-1 lead four minutes, 35 seconds into the game.
- The Cougars were 12-for-15 from the foul line and made four 3-pointers in the first half.
- Towson was 7-for-12 from the charity stripe in the second half.
