MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The Towson women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) foe College of Charleston on Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED (DOUBLES PLAY)- College of Charleston swept the three doubles matches to earn the opening doubles point.
- The Tigers had a tough loss at No. 2 doubles as Lucy Williams and Lucy Gloninger dropped a 7-6(7-5) decision to the Cougars' Liza Fieldsend and Helena Nyikos.
- At No. 3 doubles, A.J. Gomer and Renate van Oorschodt had a four-match win streak snapped, falling 6-4 to Sarah Jane Jones and Sarah Zschunke.
HOW IT HAPPENED (SINGLES PLAY)- The Cougars won five of the six singles matches in straight sets against the Tigers.
- Nicole Shakhnazarova had a hard fought loss at No. 2 singles, falling in three sets to Nicole Schofield. Shakhnazarova battled back after dropping the first set 6-7 (3-7) to win the second set 6-3. After a long third set tiebreaker, Schofield took the set 11-9 to win the matchup.
UP NEXT Towson remains at College of Charleston to face Savannah State on March 16 and University of Massachusetts on March 17 in neutral site matchups. The Tigers will then head to CAA rival UNCW on March 19.
