Boyd and Baltazar With Two Hits Each In Setback To Fordham

TOWSON, Md. – Sophomore Olivia Baltazar had two doubles during a 12-3 loss to Fordham in the first game of the Tiger Classic Friday morning.
 
How It Happened
  • After falling behind, 1-0, Towson grabbed a 3-1 lead after two innings.
  • Baltazar led Towson with two hits, including a two-run double in the second inning that gave Towson a 2-1 lead.
  • Baltazar smartly advanced to third base on Kendyl Scott's flyout in the second inning. She scored on a throwing error after Brook Miko stole second base.
  • Fordham took the lead for good in the third inning when Lindsay Mayer hit a two-run home run that gave the Rams a 4-3 edge.
  • The Rams added six runs in the fifth inning to reach double-digit runs for the sixth straight game.
  • Fordham had four players with at least two hits highlighted by Amy Van Hoven's three hits.
  • Fordham pitcher Rachel Gillen earned the win by allowing two hits over the final four innings.
