WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Towson baseball team fell, 6-1, to George Washington in a midweek game Tuesday afternoon at Barcroft Park.
 
How It Happened

• The Colonials got on the board in the first inning as Joey Bartosic started the inning with a base hit and came around to score on a sacrifice bunt from Cody Bryant.
• GW extended the lead in the third on a two-run single from Bobby Campbell and an infield RBI single from Kevin Mahala.
• Eric Ramsey extended the lead to 5-0 with a solo home run in the fourth.
• Towson got on the board in the sixth as Colin Dyer singled to left and stole second.  Tristan Howerton drove him in with a single to left field.
• The duo of Dyer and Howerton combined for the Tigers second run of the game in the ninth.  Dyer singled to third and stole second.  Howerton then drove him in with a two-out single to right field.
• Howerton led the offense by going 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
• Dyer added two hits and scored both runs.
• Lee Lawler (2-3) took the loss after allowing four runs on two hits over 2.1 innings.
• Robbie Metz (2-4) allowed just one unearned run on eight hits over seven innings to pick up the victory.

The Tigers return to action April 22-24 as they travel to UNCW.  The series opener is set for 6 p.m. Friday night.
