HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Towson women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Davidson College on Saturday afternoon in a neutral site matchup at Hillside Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED (DOUBLES PLAY)

• Davidson opened the match winning two of the three doubles matches.
• The Tiger duo of Yevgeniya Shuterman and Sophie Lesage combined for a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
• At No. 1 doubles, Lucy Williams and Lucy Gloninger dropped a close 7-6(5) match to the Wildcat's Ally Sexton and Anna Catharine Feaster.
• The pairing of Nicole Shakhnazarova and Barbora Vasilkova were narrowly edged 7-6(4) at No. 2 doubles to Gabrielle Centenari and Elaina Cummer.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED (SINGLES PLAY)

• The Wildcats won two of the six singles matches in straight sets against the Tigers.
• At No. 1 singles, Shakhnazarova dropped the first set 6-4 before coming back to win the second set by a 6-4 score. She ultimately fell 6-4 in the third set to Feaster.
• Vasilkova won the first set 7-5 before suffering a tough 7-6(5) loss in the second set. She dropped a close 10-7 decision in the third set to Centenari at No. 3 singles.
• Gloninger posted a tight 7-6(3) win in the first set at No. 5 singles to Cummer. She dropped the second set 6-4 and the final set 6-2.
• A.J. Gomer fell 6-4 in the first set to Megan Scholvinck at No. 4 singles. She fought back to win the second set 6-1 and force a third set which Schlovinck took 6-3.
