Towson Falls In Series Finale To No. 7 James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Towson University softball team dropped the series finale to seventh-ranked James Madison, 3-0, in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) contest at Veteran's Memorial Park Sunday afternoon.

Towson (22-10 overall, 2-4 CAA) and James Madison (30-2, 6-0).
 
How It Happened
  • Megan Dejter pitched around a pair of walks in the second inning to keep the game scoreless.
  • Kendyl Scott was Towson's first base runner as she reached on a two-out error in the third inning.
  • After a two-run, two-out double from James Madison's Taylor Newton gave it a 2-0 lead in the third inning, Daria Edwards led off the fourth with a walk.
  • Edwards reached base twice for Towson. She had a two-out single in the sixth inning.
  • That single raised Edwards' batting average to .350.
  • Dejter found her groove late in the game as she retired the final eight James Madison batters she faced.
  • Of the 18 outs she recorded, Dejter induced nine groundballs and nine flyballs.
  • JMU's Megan Good earned her 19th win of the season as she tossed a complete game.
