Tigers Fall Late at Tribe in Game One

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Towson tied the game with two outs in the top of the ninth, but William & Mary scored in the bottom of the ninth to walk off with an 8-7 victory in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
  • The Tigers jumped out to an early lead with a two-run, two-out rally in the first inning.  Brady Policelli drew a four-pitch and scored on a Chris Henze RBI double to left center.  A.J. Gallo followed with an RBI single through the right side.
  • The Tribe answered back in the home-half of the inning with a sacrifice fly from Cullen Large and a two-run homer from Charley Gould.
  • WM added to the lead in the second after back-to-back errors by the Tigers led to a Ryan Hall RBI single.
  • Towson tied the game in the fourth inning as Henze ripped a double into the left-field corner and scored on Cuinn Mullin's two-out two-run homer to left center.  It was Mullins second home run of the season, and second in as many games.
  • The Tribe regained the lead in the home-half of the inning as three singles loaded the bases.  Ryder Miconi drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to right field.
  • Towson found its offense again in the seventh as a pair of walks and a hit batter loaded the bases.  Brady Policelli made the Tribe pay with a two runs single to left field.

  • WM took a lead in the eighth inning as Hall delivered an RBI single through the right side.
  • The Tigers did not go quietly as a pair of singles and a walk loaded the bases.  Gallo tied the game with a two-out RBI single into the hole at short.
