CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – Despite a career-high 16 saves from junior goalkeeper 
Emilee Woodall, the Towson University field hockey team fell 3-0 at Villanova on Sunday afternoon.
 
Villanova (2-8) used a pair of second-half goals to defeat Towson (2-7) at the Villanova Field Hockey Field.
 
How it Happened
	- The game was scoreless for the first 28 minutes as the Tiger defense fought off three penalty corner opportunities by the Wildcats and Woodall made six saves.
 
	- Towson had its first scoring chance in the game's 22nd minute as junior Taylor Kvilhaug attempted to get one past Villanova goalkeeper Erika Miller but was denied.
 
	- Villanova ended the game's scoreless streak at 28:35 as Emma McLaughlin scored from the middle on a pass from Allison Sayia that came outside the circle.
 
	- The Tigers denied the Wildcats of six more shots and four penalty corner chances to keep the score 1-0 at halftime.
 
	- Towson had a scoring chance early in the second half as freshman Korena Shaw had a shot blocked on a penalty corner chance.
 
	- Towson's defense stood strong for the next 24 minutes, denying Villanova of nine penalty corner opportunities and 15 shots. The Tigers blocked nine of those chances while Woodall made four saves.
 
	- McLaughlin had a chance to score her second of the day but was denied by Woodall in the 59th minute. The Wildcats' Abby Siani corralled the rebound though to give Villanova a 2-0 lead.
 
	- With 29 seconds remaining in the game, Villanova's Francesca Bello scored on a rebound from a Claire Weaver shot.
 
	- Woodall made three saves in the game's final nine minutes to finish the game with 16 shots.
 
 
Behind the Numbers
	- Woodall recorded a career-high 16 saves, besting her previous game high of 15 saves. She has now posted double-digit saves six times this season. Her 16 saves are the most by a Tiger goalkeeper since senior Megan Boyle made 18 against James Madison on Oct. 2, 2015.
 
	- Villanova outshot Towson 38-2. Kvilhaug and Shaw each had a scoring chance for the Tigers.  
 
	- The Wildcats had 18 penalty corner chances to Towson's one opportunity.
 
	- Freshman Lexi Butler received a green card in the game while senior Allie Stauffer and sophomore Devon Hake were both given yellow cards.
