Jocelyn Kuilan led the Towson University volleyball team to a 3-0 win over George Washington on Saturday afternoon in the Seton Hall Tournament. The Tigers (6-0) used Lewis' first double-double of the season to win their sixth straight match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A kill from Lewis allowed the Tigers to open up a 9-3 lead in the first set. Towson pushed its lead to 16-8 on a kill from Kuilan. A 5-0 run by the Colonials, including back-to-back kills from Skylar Iott made it 19-14 and Towson called timeout. A kill from freshman Annie Ertz made it 20-14 in favor of the Black and Gold attack. A kill from Lewis, her seventh of the set closed out a 25-17 first set win for the Tigers.
- Kuilan and Lewis combined for 13 of the Tigers' 16 kills in the first set.
- Towson scored eight of the first 12 points in the second set as a kill from Ertz helped the Tigers jump out to an early lead. The two sides traded points as a kill from senior Lindsay Flaherty gave the Tigers a 14-9 edge. A service ace from Ertz pushed the Tiger advantage to 20-11. A service error by the Colonials (2-3) gave Towson a 25-16 second set win and a 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Tigers hit .444 in the second set as Lewis and Ertz each posted three kills.
- Back-to-back service aces from Ertz gave Towson a 13-6 edge in the third set. A kill from Kuilan made it 17-8 in favor of the Tigers in the set. Another kill from Kuilan extended the advantage to 20-9. Kuilan's fifth kill of the set secured a 25-12 set win for the Tigers and a 3-0 victory in the match.
- Kuilan and Ertz combined for 10 of the Tigers' 15 kills in the set.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Kuilan finished with a team-high 13 kills and posted a .542 hitting percentage. Lewis contributed 11 kills and a team-high 14 digs for her first double-double of the year.
- Towson rebounded hitting the ball on Saturday. After hitting a season-low .121 against Canisius, the Tigers bounced back and hit .384 against the Colonials.
- Ertz, who entered the week leading the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in service aces, had three service aces and a season-high nine kills.
- Holehouse had 10 digs while freshman Marrisa Wonders dished out 26 assists.
- The Tigers recorded a season-high seven team blocks, Flaherty led that group with five blocks.
- The win was head coach Don Metil's 299th of his career, 69 of which have come at Towson.
The Tigers wrap up the Seton Hall Tournament later tonight as they face the host Pirates at 7:30 p.m.
