Towson Battles Hard In Setback To No. 7 Alabama

CONWAY, S.C. – The Towson University softball team went toe-to-toe with seventh-ranked Alabama before dropping a tough 4-2 decision in the opening game of the Kickin' Chicken Classic Saturday morning at Coastal Carolina.
 
How It Happened
  • Brook Miko slugged her first home run of the season, a solo shot in the second inning that tied the game, 1-1.
  • Towson grabbed a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning following Madison Wilson's RBI single that scored Dylan Jarvis.
  • Caroline Reid opened the third inning with a leadoff single.
  • Julia Smith-Harrington tossed a complete game.
  • Alabama rallied for the win by scoring twice in the fifth inning and once in the sixth inning.
  • Wilson has a hit in Towson's first three games.
