TOWSON, Md. – Senior Day is always a mixture of emotions. It's probably safe to say that there may not be a dry eye in the house when the careers of
Arnaud William Adala Moto and
John Davis are recognized and celebrated prior to Towson's final home game of the season against James Madison Saturday night.
Adala Moto and Davis have enjoyed spectacular careers for the Tigers. The dynamic duo have helped Towson become one of the elite programs in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). This season, each player scored their 1,000th career point, took turns leading the Tigers at different points in the season, and produced a portfolio of memorable moments.

Adala Moto has been a vital part of Towson's success over the last two seasons, helping Towson win 38 games. As a junior Adala Moto earned second team All-CAA honors after leading Towson in scoring (13.9) and rebounding (8.7). Adala Moto tied a Towson record for most points in his debut with 28 against La Salle.
This season he has produced consistent numbers averaging 12 points and 6.6 rebounds. He was named CAA Player of the Week on Jan. 16. During his career, Adala Moto has scored 1,187 points and pulled down 761 rebounds. He has 12 career double-doubles and has scored in double figures 40 times.
"I don't even know if I'm going to shed a tear or be excited." Adala Moto said with a laugh, "I just want to get these wins."
A rock of excellence, Davis was a member of the Tigers' 25-win team that won a pair of postseason games during the 2013-14 season. During his fantastic career, Davis has scored in double figures 56 times and collected 23 double-doubles. He was a third-team All-CAA selection following his sophomore season. Davis ends his career with 1,114 points (which is 20th in school history) and 713 rebounds (which is seventh in school history). Davis is one of six men's basketball players in program history to have scored 1,000 career points and finish with at least 700 rebounds. This season, Davis was fourth in the CAA in rebounding (7.6).
"William and John have meant a lot to our program," Skerry said. "I am going to have a hard time keeping the tears in losing William and John. We want to win for them."
A Look At James Madison
Senior forward Ivan Lukic and junior forward Ramone Snowden each turned in career performances as James Madison produced its largest scoring output of the season en route to a thrilling 95-92 overtime victory against William & Mary in Colonial Athletic Association action on Thursday night at the JMU Convocation Center. Lukic scored a career-high 19 points, to go with six rebounds and two blocks, and Snowden tallied a career-best 18 points while matching his career high of eight rebounds. Junior guard Joey McLean also turned in 18 points while also producing five rebounds and four assists. Senior guard Jackson Kent pitched in 16 points and five boards, and senior forward Paulius Satkus contributed 14 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Kent is the Dukes' only double-digit scorer, averaging 14.3 points per game.
Last Meeting Against James Madison
Justin Gorham scored eight points and collected seven rebounds, both career bests, during Towson's 64-44 setback to James Madison.
Arnaud William Adala Moto grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for the Tigers. Adala Moto scored seven points on 3-of-6 shooting in 18 minutes.
Zane Martin also added seven points for Towson. Jackson Kent scored 23 points for JMU, which had 13 assists on its 19 baskets.
30 Is The New 20
Mike Morsell delivered his second 32-point scoring performance this season. He scored 32 points each against William & Mary and Elon. It's the first time since the 2012-13 season that a player for Towson has scored at least 30 points in a game twice during the same season. Jerrelle Benimon scored 30 at Temple on Dec. 12 and 31 at George Mason on Feb. 26.
Defense Not Resting
Towson's defense has been solid the last three games. The Tigers have held Hofstra, Drexel and Elon below 70 points. In addition, Towson has outrebounded its three foes by 10.7 per game while grabbing at least 40 rebounds in each game.
Nationally Speaking
Towson is ranked in top 50 nationally in offensive rebounds per game (14th, 13.57), rebound margin (7th, 8.2), free throw attempts (4th, 715), free throws made (15th, 491), total rebounds (6th, 1,124), and rebounds per game (16th, 40.1).
Skerry Success In Last Five Years
Everyone knows Towson went 1-31 in coach
Pat Skerry's first year. Since then, Towson has been consistently excellent. The Tigers have won 93 games (including two postseason contests), participated in two postseason tournaments and have the most CAA wins of any school.
18 And Counting
This is the fourth time in the last five years, Towson has won at least 18 games. It's the ninth time since Towson has been a Division I program (first year was 1979-80) that it has won at least 18 games in a single season (1988-89, 1989-90, 1990-91, 1992-93, 1993-94, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2015-16 & 2016-17). The last four have been under
Pat Skerry. With one more win, Towson will have 19 wins for the sixth time as a Division I program.
Sensational Second Halves
The Tigers made 19 of 29 shots (65.5 percent) in the second half against UMBC. It was their highest shooting second half of the season. Towson made 63 percent of its shots (17-for-27) against Morgan State. Towson has shot at least 50 percent in the second half nine times this season. The Tigers scored 57 points in the 2nd half against FDU and 54 against Hofstra.
Home Sweet Home
Towson has won seven straight home games and are 11-3 overall this season.
