HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hens opened the game on a 14-6 run behind a pair of three-pointers from Hannah Jardine.
- A lay-up from Bankston allowed Towson to cut the lead to six, 14-8 with 4:12 to go in the quarter.
- Delaware closed the quarter on a 12-6 run and took a 26-14 lead after 10 minutes of play.
- The Blue Hens shot 64.3 percent from the field in the first stanza and went 4-for-4 from behind the arc.
- A jumper from Makeda Nicholas at 7:53 of the second quarter gave the home team a 31-14 advantage.
- Towson scored the game's next six points and pulled to within 11, 31-20 with 3:06 showing on the clock. Freshman guard Etalyia Vogt drained a triple for the Tigers during that stretch.
- Erika Brown scored six of the final 11 points in the stanza and Delaware took a 40-22 lead at the half.
- The Blue Hens shot 48.1 percent from the field in the first half and went 5-for-6 from three-point range. Delaware was also 9-for-10 from the foul line.
- The third quarter saw both teams trade blows at each end of the court. Delaware and Towson combined for 42 points in that 10 minute stretch.
- Delaware held a 63-41 lead at the end of the third quarter despite nine points from Martin during that stretch.
- Towson opened the fourth quarter on a 7-0 run and forced Delaware to call timeout with a 63-48 lead and 9:26 to play. Bankston converted a traditional three-point play during that stretch.
- Delaware halted the Towson run with a pair of free throws at 8:36.
- However Towson scored the next nine points of the game and pulled to within eight, 65-57 with 5:25 to play. Martin scored five for the Tigers during that stretch.
- That was as close as the Tigers would get despite continuing to fight.
- Delaware went 8-for-16 from the foul line in the final five minutes to seal the 75-59 win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Towson won the rebounding battle, 41-36. Ten of the 11 Tigers who appeared in the game grabbed at least one rebound. That group was led by junior forward Mary Cuevas, who tied for game-high honors with 11.
- The Tigers recorded 10 steals to Delaware's eight. Bankston led Towson with six swipes in the contest.
- Delaware shot 42.2 percent from the field while Towson posted a 32.8 field goal percentage. The Blue Hens connected on eight three-pointers and went 29-for-41 from the foul line.
- Brown led Delaware with 25 points while Jardine and Nicholas each had 12. .
The Tigers will be back in action when the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament begins on Wednesday, March 8 at James Madison. Towson, the number eight seed while face Hofstra, the nine seed at noon.
