PITTSBURGH – The Towson University women's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 decision at Duquesne on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers won three singles matches, two in straight sets and one in a third-set.
 
How it Happened

• Duquesne swept the three doubles matches to earn the opening doubles point. At the No. 1 flight, A.J. Gomer and Renate van Oorschodt fell 6-1 to Kylie Issacs and Julianne Herman. At second doubles, Lucy Williams and Yevgeniya Shusterman dropped a 6-3 decision to Ally Miller and Zuzanna Stelmaszak. In the final doubles flight, Barbora Vasilkova and Lucy Gloninger fell 6-2 to Megan Wasson and Laurel Shymansky
• Towson's Nicole Shakhnazarova earned a 7-6, 6-3 win at the top singles flight over Kylie Issacs.
• Barbora Vasilkova won 7-5, 7-6 (9) decision to Ally Miller at the fourth singles flight.
• At No. 6 singles, Lucy Gloninger earned a thrilling three-set victory over Laurel Shymansky6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
• A.J. Gomer won the first set at No. 2 singles to Julianne Herman but was unable to hold on for the win, falling 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.
• Lucy Williams dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Megan Wasson at the third singles flight.
• At No. 5 singles, Sophie Lesage dropped a three set decision to Aishwarya Kona, falling 2-6, 7-5, 6-2.
