Shelby Stracher homered in each game and
Nicole Stockinger extended her hitting streak to 10 games as the Towson University softball team split a pair of extra-inning games against Elon University Saturday afternoon at the Hunt Softball Complex.
The Tigers rallied to capture the opening game, 2-1, in 10 innings before falling 4-3, in the nine innings of the nightcap.

How It Happened Game 1
- Kendyl Scott had two hits, including a homer with one out in the 10th inning that provided the winning margin.
- Scott's homer hit the top of the yellow fence and bounced over it.
- Stracher jumped on the first pitch she saw in the seventh inning and blasted a one-out shot over the left centerfield fence that tied the game, 1-1.
- It was Stracher's team leading sixth home run of the season.
- Towson was in position to win the game thanks to the dynamic pitching of Megan Dejter and its top-flight defense that made several outstanding plays throughout the game.
- After allowing a first inning run, Dejter kept the Phoenix scoreless.
- Elon threatened to take a 2-0 lead in the second inning, but Scott fired a strike from centerfield to cutdown an Elon runner trying to score.
- It was Scott's ninth outfield assist.
- Dejter retired 19 of the final 20 Elon batters she faced.
- She allowed six hits over 10 innings.
- The Tigers defense was strong. Holiday Cahill recorded an unassisted double play.
- Towson's first six batters were retired before Cahill led off the third inning with a single to centerfield.

How It Happened Game 2
- Stockinger had her third three hit game of the season and the seventh of her career.
- Holiday Cahill and Edwards added two hits each for the Tigers, who held a pair of leads in the sixth and seventh innings.
- Elon won the game when Million reached on a two-out error that allowed Alaina Hall to score the winning run.
- Callie Hill's one-out bases loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning forced extra innings,
- After Elon tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Brook Miko's sacrifice fly gave Towson a 3-2 lead.
- Stracher and Edwards hit consecutive home runs to leftfield with one out in the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie.
- Maddie Wilson made a diving catch of a bunt attempt in foul ground in the seventh inning.
- The Tigers were 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position while Elon was 4-for-15.
