TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team rode the dominant pitching of
Megan Dejter and
Julia Smith-Harrington to take a pair of non-conference games from Howard University at the Tiger Softball Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
Smith-Harrington threw her second consecutive shutout in as many days to help Towson win the opening game, 8-0. Dejter recorded a season-high seven strikeouts to help the Tigers win the nightcap, 5-1.
The two wins extended Towson's winning streak to a season best four games. Furthermore, this was the 20th consecutive season and 25th time in program history, the Tigers have won at least 20 games in a single season.

How It Happened Game One
- Kendyl Scott and Shelby Stracher led the Tigers offense with two hits each.
- Towson's first six hits went for extra bases.
- Daria Edwards walked in the second inning and scored to give the Tigers a quick 1-0 lead.
- Holiday Cahill and Stracher hit back-to-back RBI doubles in the third inning that gave Towson a 3-0 lead.

- Daria Edwards paced Towson's 12-hit attack with her team-leading seventh three-hit game of the season.
- Nicole Stockinger and Wilson had two hits each for the Tigers.
- Howard's Kamryn Tillman, who also singled in the opening game, hit a one-out homer in the top of the first inning to give the Bison a 1-0 lead.
- Tillman's homer ended Towson's 28.1 inning home scoreless streak.
- Dejter settled down big time, retiring 18 consecutive Howard hitters.
- Dejter struck out the side in the fourth inning.
- Emily Ward delivered a two-out RBI single in the second inning that scored Edwards with the tying run.
