Opening Day Glitters: Towson Shines In Win Over Georgetown

TOWSON, Md. – Nearly two months into the 2017 season, the Towson University softball team finally enjoyed the comforts of home.
 
The wait was worth it as Towson defeated Georgetown, 12-4, in a non-conference contest at the sun-splashed Tiger Softball Stadium Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers sprinted to a quick lead, held off a mild Hoya threat, and flexed their muscles late to win their second straight game.

How It Happened
  • Brook Miko led Towson's offense with three hits.
  • Miko and freshman Emily Ward each drove in three runs.
  • Kendyl Scott and Nicole Stockinger also had two hits for the Tigers.
